STATRE report (individual) 1500 words
IVs: Satisfaction in life, meaning in life, materialism values, personal growth initiative, gratitude.
Pick satisfaction and two others. 3 variable correlation.
Cover page: title depends on the variable you pick.
Abstract: 120 words, on one page by itself, no indent.
Introduction: Literature review, how you form the hypothesis. Heading is the title of research.
Method: Participants, materials, procedure.
Participants: PCS year 2 students, as part of STATRE course requirements. Age, gender, sample, descriptive stats.
Materials: A questionnaire testing ____ constructs. Describe them. Likert scale, number of questions. Is it created or adapted. Purpose of instrument. Reliability and validity? Acknowledge source of scale using Cronbach’s alpha.
Procedure: Briefing, informed consent, filling up of questionnaire.
Results: First line “A Pearson Product-Moment Correlation” test was run. Regression equation. Significance r, probability. Descriptive statistics. Mean, median, mode. Use table to report descriptive stats, APA style.
Discussion: Is there consistency with previous research? Limitations and recommendations. Ethical considerations. Implications.
Print final report minus questionnaire appendix.
Lit review and discussion are main and lengthiest components.

Cover Page (5 marks): Title, Layout
Abstract (10 marks): Research topic, aim, hypotheses (if any), participants, materials, procedures, findings, implications, conclusion.
Introduction (20 marks): Clear title. Review relevant research. Specify objective & support the significance & hypotheses (if appropriate) of your research. Demonstrate understanding of the subject matter. Demonstrate critical evaluation of the selected empirical studies.
Method (15 marks): Details about participants, materials, procedures are appropriate to the research topic.
Results (15 marks): Clear descriptions of research findings, appropriate statistical analyses. Appropriate use of tables & figures.
Discussion (20 marks): Good and appropriate interpretations of results. Practical &/or theoretical implications. Limitations & recommendations for future studies. Clear conclusion.
