Hey Guys,
I contacted Ms Heidi regarding the portfolio. If you have any difficulties understanding the instruction like i do, please refer to it.
Tarci
Dear Tarci & co.,
Thanks for your questions! Here's my response...
(1) It can be a concept (e.g. self-concept) or a theory or a phenomenon (e.g. hindsight bias). It can be ANY of these from chapters in the text.
(2) For this part, please explain the concept in your own words. Having read it up in the text / other resources, describe the concept based on your personal understanding of it.
Here, focus on the concept (dont bring in the material yet!)
(3) For this part, you need to examine / analysis the material. For example, you have selected a comic strip. Now, to answer this part, you need to analysis how the comic strip is an illustration of the
concept (e.g. the characters' dialogue? the characters' dressing? the underlying message? the setting? etc)
Hope it helps! Do let me know how else I can be of help!
Cheers,
Heidi
Dear Ms Heidi,
Thanks for postponing the dateline for the portfolio to next Monday. Sorry to bother you with these questions.
1. Does the word concept refer to one theory?
2. What does it mean by “A description of the concept the material illustrates.”
•Do you mean describing the material by using the concept?
•Or do you mean describing the concept by using the material?
3. How different number 2 from “An analysis of how the material is an example of the concept.”
If it is possible, please provide examples to elaborate the questions above.
I will inform the other sleepyheads in my class.
Thanks
Tarci
